Since standard product details contain a limited number of parameters (see the section "Modifying Product Details"), certain products in your store catalog might require additional parameters. In LiteCommerce software it is possible to create additional product detail fields or extra fields, which can be used to provide your store visitors with additional information on the products offered. Extra fields can be assigned to individual products or to all products within the certain category or several categories. There is no limit on the total number of extra fields that can be defined.

Category-specific extra fields are called global extra fields and can be managed from the 'Global extra fields' section of the 'Catalog' menu. Additionally, global extra fields pertinent to a specific category can be reviewed in the 'Extra fields' tab of the corresponding 'Modify category' screen.

Product-specific extra fields are defined and managed separately for each product using the 'Extra fields' tab of the 'Product info' section.
